Photo Facials

A photo facial is like a boost of energy to your skin cell turnover. Subtle Enhancement Med Spa’s PhotoFacial treatment uses an intense pulsed light to penetrate your skin on the deepest levels, causing your skin to produce brand new collagen and connective tissue, thus creating healthier and smoother skin. PhotoFacial lasers are safe for the face, hands, or any other body area, and are particularly suited for treating rosacea, sun damaged skin, large pores, age spots, port wine stains, facial veins, and fine wrinkles.

Most patients undergo a series of 4-7 half hour treatments, about 3 weeks between each treatment. After the first PhotoFacial treatment, skin will already feel smoother. Like other laser-based procedures, a PhotoFacial’s light beam is typically very comfortable. After receiving a treatment, pain is reported as either very mild or nonexistent. Having a PhotoFacial is a low risk non-surgical procedure with excellent clinical results. A PhotoFacial package will give you “brand new skin” and  make you feel years younger.

Photo Facial rejuvenation treatment offered by Subtle Enhancement Med Spa.Time required for a PhotoFacial :
PhotoFacial is performed in a series of treatments, normally about 5 in total, spaced 3 weeks apart. This timing can vary with everyone depending on their needs. Each treatment takes 20-30 minutes.

What are the side effects of having a PhotoFacial?
Photofacial side effects include temporary redness, discomfort, or swelling. In rare cases temporary blistering and bruising occur at mild levels.

How long do PhotoFacial results last?
Photofacial results are long-lasting if you undergo the prescribed number of treatments. During your consultation, our professional staff will look at your unique case and let you know exactly how many treatments you would require to see the results you are looking for. A skin regimen can be carried out at home to maintain the results. After a couple of years, a touch-up photofacial treatment may be recommended.

What is the recovery time for a PhotoFacial?
Photofacial recovery time is virtually non-existent. Some redness may occur after the treatment, but is easily covered. On the day of your PhotoFacial, you will be asked to refrain from all skin care products, but may continue the use of them the following day, using only mild products. Make-up may be worn the very next day as well. Patients are able to return to all other normal daily activities the same day as their photofacial rejuvenation treatment.

Will my insurance company cover PhotoFacial?
Because of the cosmetic nature of photofacial, insurance usually is not involved.

Is there much discomfort receiving a PhotoFacial?
After a photofacial treatment, patients typically have virtually no pain, only some sensitivity. Should you feel any pain at all, it would be quite minimal and easily controlled with ice packs and standard pain medication.

What types of anesthesia is necessary for PhotoFacial?

For photofacial, anesthesia of a great magnitude is not necessary. A topical anesthetic, or numbing cream may be applied to the skin in advance of the treatment, but with our state of the art cooling tip attachment, it is typically not needed.
